There is a club lacrosse team in Grand Forks called the Grand Cities Predators. This club includes multiple teams spanning from the 8U (~1st/2nd graders) up to and including the Varsity team (~High School). General Information is listed below.
When is lacrosse season?
A typical season begins April 1st and ends around the first week of June.
There are also many summer/fall traveling season opportunities if you want to play lacrosse year-round.
When and where are the practices?
16U and Varsity practices are expected to be Monday-Friday, 4:00pm - 5:30pm (*subject to change)
12U and 14U practices are on Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00pm - 7:30pm (*subject to change)
U8 & U10 practices are on Monday's, 6:00pm - 7:30pm (*subject to change)
The primary practice field is located behind South Middle School, Grand Forks, ND.
What are the participation fees?
The US Lacrosse membership fee is $30.00 (youth) $35.00 (high school) and is required by all players for liability purposes. You can register with US Lacrosse at: www.uslacrosse.org/membership.aspx
Local club fees for players in 2018 ranges from $60-$350 (depending on age level), which includes tournament costs, coaches’ fees, etc.
What equipment does a player need to get started?
To practice, a lacrosse stick and hockey gear (helmet, hockey pads) are acceptable.
To play in a game, the player will need a helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and a protective cup.
A player can use hockey shoulder pads and elbow pads, but must use a lacrosse helmet and lacrosse gloves to play in a game. Team helmet color is WHITE, but other colors are fine.
How much does equipment cost?
Starter sets that include helmets, all pads, gloves and a stick are available for $160 and up.
